a) Outline the main features found inside a Catholic Church. (4 marks)

b) Explain why the priest is important in the parish. (8 marks)

c) “Women would make good priests.” Do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your opinion, showing that you have considered another point of view. You should refer to Catholicism in your answer. (8 marks)

9G Visit to the National Gallery


We visited the National Gallery today, and learned about how artists have represented religion in art. The oldest painting we looked at was part of an altarpiece by Jacopo di Cione known as the “San Pier Maggiore Altarpiece“. It was called “The Coronation of the Virgin with Adoring Saints“. Jacopo di Cione was probably active around 1362. The altarpiece was completed in 1371.

9G Task 2
