The oldest painting we looked at was part of an altarpiece by Jacopo di Cione known as the “San Pier Maggiore Altarpiece“. It was called “The Coronation of the Virgin with Adoring Saints“. Jacopo di Cione was probably active around 1362. The altarpiece was completed in 1371.
