4.5 Homework

Unfortunately I missed all the 9A lessons and most of the 9G lessons this week because I was unwell. Expect a larger piece of homework next week! I apologise for missing two weeks in a row. I hope you have used your homework time to check out the useful webpages section, and to revise for your SATs!

4.4 Homework

No homework over the long Easter weekend. I hope you had a good Easter thinking about Jesus of the Gospels.

“Miracle man” from Galilee enters Jerusalem

Have you heard the news? Tonight, on BBC 1, you can see what Jesus has been getting up to recently. He entered Jerusalem today, surrounded by a crowd of people waving palm branches and shouting Hosanna. The authorities don’t look too happy … watch this space! I’ll be updating you on the situation when I can …

4.3 Homework

Homework due on Monday 17 March.

Complete the front page for the new unit, Jesus of the Gospels.

Special mentions for the last piece of homework go to Temi, Terri, Katrina and Joseph P. I’m definitely going bananas for FairTrade bananas …!

4.2 Homework

Homework due on Monday 10 March.

You are right - there is no 4.1 Homework. I did not hand out homework last week because you had your SATs and I only saw you once. I hope the SATs went well - I would like to add my congratulations to those of the other teachers, your behaviour in the hall when I was invigilating (and, from the sounds of it, at all other times as well) was excellent. I am sure with that positive attitude you should all have done well, and will do well in the real SATs.

This week it is still Fairtrade Fortnight, so our work in class will be based on Fairtrade.

Fair Trade ProductsFor homework, I want you to choose one Fairtrade product to advertise.

You must describe in a simple way what FairTrade is and does, and include at least one Bible verse.

You should explain why the Bible verse might encourage a Christian to buy FairTrade products.

You could add more detail about how that product is produced, and the difference that FairTrade has brought to the life of that producer.

Remember, products can be advertised in different ways. They could be posters that are placed next to the product in supermarkets or in windows, leaflets that are handed out to customers, colourful adverts on the internet, radio adverts or TV adverts. Use your imagination. If you want to do a more complex advert, and think it might take more time, please see me in advance. Have fun!
